Jesus said, “Truly I tell you, just as you did it to one of the least of these who are members of my family, you did it to me” (Matthew 25:40) We believe that all of humanity and all of creation are interconnected, and that when one hurts, we all hurt and that no one is free until all are free.

Feast Ministry
Our Congregational Prison Ministry

Since 2005, Our Saviour’s has welcomed people housed at the Community Correctional Center-Lincoln to worship. We transport our friends to worship with us, enjoy lunch together, and engage in study and personal development. The people change, but the message stays the same: God loves and accepts you NOW.

Randolph Elementary School
Volunteers & Support

We have long had a close association with our neighborhood elementary school.

  • We currently provide 69 food backpacks through the Lincoln Food Bank.
  • We have a team of volunteers who assist teachers and staff on a regular basis.
  • We collect coats and mittens for the school each winter.
Tanzanian Companion Parish
Kimangaro Parish

For several years, we have connected with and created mutual support with our siblings in Christ a Kimangaro Parish in Tanzania, a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Tanzania. Our Synod hosts vision trips twice per year, and several of our members have travelled to learn about and grow from the faith of the people there. Each October, we lift up and raise funds for the work that they do.

Chat N Tie
Our fabric ministry

We have a thriving quilting group that gathers on the 3rd and 4th Wednesday mornings of the month to chat...and tie. Fellowship around the quilts flourishes as the participants tie knots across the blankets and break for treats and coffee. Anyone is welcome to join in.

Bridges to Hope
Warehouse providing for the needs of people re-entering society.

This ministry was established long ago out of a pastor's garage. Now, the ministry serves hundreds of recently incarcerated individuals trying to get established in a home and job. The warehouse provides items needed to set up a home (furniture, kitchen items, linens) as well as prepare for work (professional clothing, etc.). The sooner someone is able to become established, the less likely they are to return to prison. For more information on how you can support this ministry, click the button below.

Bridges to Hope
Spiritual Development

Led by our Director of Outreach and Spiritual Director, Alissa Ries, several opportunities for spiritual development are offered throughout the year. These range from learning how to Breathe to Discerning the Spirit and studies on recognizing the voice of God in our lives.

Angel Tree

Each Christmas, OSLC sponsors several children with one or more parent who is incarcerated. We help their parents give them a meaningful Christmas gift. The process is all online, and you can sponsor as many children as you would like. More information will be available as Christmas nears.

Lutheran Food Pantry

We are a collection site for the Lutheran Food Pantry, located at St. Andrew's Lutheran Church. Currently, the most needed items for the Pantry include:

  •  Boxed instant mashed potatoes
  • Boxed breakfast cereal
  • Canned fruits (pears, peaches, pineapple, fruit cocktail)
  • Canned meals (spaghetti & meatballs, ravioli, etc)
  • Pork and beans
  • Ramen noodles
  • Snack items (small packages of cookies, nuts, fruit-flavored snacks, etc.)
Good Samaritan Fund

We do have the ability to assist individuals with short-term needs using our Good Samaritan Fund. If you would like to donate to the fund, please designate your gift accordingly. We are able to offer gas vouchers, rent and utility assistance, and help direct people to resources. We do not offer housing or fund overnight stays at hotels. Each request is assessed on a case-by-case basis.
